About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in Oracle database administration, with a strong focus on Exadata environments. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, and management of Oracle RDBMS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a global leveraged team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Oracle RDBMS e.g. 10, 11g, 12c.
- Manage large databases, Oracle partitioning, and Data warehouse environments.
- Perform periodic database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Implement and manage backup & restore methodologies, database refreshes, Reorgs, and script writing.
- Apply Oracle-related patches and manage RAC cluster and DataGuard databases.
- Manage Oracle clusters and environments containing replication.
- Provide system administration staff with requirements for Oracle host machines.
- Coordinate with various teams and customers to schedule database activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as part of a global leveraged team.
- Represent the database administration team in operations and project activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of DBA processes and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and configure Golden Gate replication issues.
- Execute DR activities, database upgrades, and patching, along with regular database maintenance activities.
- Accountable for performance and capacity management for databases.
- Proficient with ExaData machines architecture (x3, x4, x5).
- Manage Resource Management [IORM and DBRM] and Exadata alerts remediation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Mandatory: Strong experience with Oracle and Exadata.
- Proficient in managing large databases, Oracle partitioning, and Data warehouse environments.
- Experience with Linux OS.
- Excellent knowledge of RAC cluster and DataGuard.
- Experience with backup appliance zfs & zba configuration.
- ExaData upgrade experience.
- Strong skills in backup & restore methodologies, Tuning databases, refreshes, Reorgs and script writing.
- Experience in executing DR activities, database upgrades and patching.
- Troubleshooting and configuring Golden Gate replication issues.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
