BI Analyst

Job Title: BI AnalystLocation: South San Francisco, CAWe're seeking a skilled and experienced BI Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our business intelligence and financial reporting systems, with a strong focus on IBM TM1 and Cognos. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Responsibilities·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Design, develop, and maintain IBM TM1 cubes, dimensions, rules, and processes to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop and implement Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across various systems.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Collaborate with finance and business teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust BI and reporting solutions.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve data discrepancies or system issues.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Support end-users with training and documentation on BI tools and reports. QualificationsPrimary Skills:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Proven experience with IBM TM1 (e.g., cube development, rule writing, TI processes, security).·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong proficiency in Cognos (e.g., Report Studio, Workspace Advanced, Framework Manager).·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Expertise in SQL for data manipulation, query optimization, and database management.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting principles, methodologies, and best practices.Secondary Skills:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation tasks.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Proficiency in Data Modelling techniques for relational and multidimensional databases.Good to Have:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Familiarity with Lifesciences Sales and Forecasting Data concepts and industry practices.
