About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our esteemed hospital as the Head of the Medic and Ancillary Division. Reporting directly to the Hospital Director, this pivotal role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the performance of all medical support services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare management, a proven track record in leadership, and a deep understanding of hospital operations. You will lead a team of six department heads, including Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, Medical Rehabilitation, Medical Records, and Nutrition, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient departmental functioning. This position requires a visionary leader who can develop and implement strategic initiatives, manage budgets effectively, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive regulations and policies for all ancillary medical services to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Formulate and execute strategic work plans for the Medic and Ancillary Division, aligning with the hospital's overall annual objectives and long-term vision.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of all departments within the division, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee manpower planning, ensuring adequate staffing levels and skill sets across all departments to meet patient demand and operational needs.
- Manage the division's budget, including operational expenses and capital expenditure for development projects, ensuring financial efficiency and sustainability.
- Develop and implement training and development programs for staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and career progression within the division.
- Drive the strategic development and growth of the Medic and Ancillary Division, exploring new services and technologies to enhance patient care and hospital competitiveness.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the division's performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives to the Hospital Director and other stakeholders.
- Conduct performance appraisals for all department heads, providing constructive feedback and support for their professional development.
- Ensure the efficient and effective management of medical records, laboratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and nutrition services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent professional medical degree is mandatory.
- A Master's degree in Management or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the healthcare sector, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing hospital regulations and operational policies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, including capital expenditure planning and justification.
- Strong understanding of manpower planning, performance management, and staff development within a hospital setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficiency in strategic planning and execution, with a focus on continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- Experience in overseeing multiple specialized medical departments is highly desirable.
